On May 23 of the current year the European Union Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan Sven-Olov Karlsson delivereda lecture on the EU activities and issues of bilateral cooperation between the EU and the Republic of Kazakhstan at the Faculty of International Relations in the framework of the Day of Europe Day in Kazakhstan.The event was also dedicated to the celebration of Kultegin's Day at L.N. Gumilyov ENU.The EU Ambassador was welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Science at ENU. L.N. Gumilyov G.T. Merzadinova and Dean of the Faculty of International Relations B.Zh. Somzhurek.
Students, undergraduates, doctoral students, teachers and all those who are not indifferent to European topics attended the lecture.After the lecture, Mr. Ambassador Sven-OlovKarlsson answered the students' questions.A quiz on the topic of the lecture was also organized, the winners of which were awarded with memorable souvenirs. At the same time Mr. Ambassador Sven-OlovKarlsson visited the Auditorimof Jean Monnet (340 auditorium) "European Diplomacy", opened in the course of implementation of the project "Department Jean Monnet - European Diplomacy" by Erasmus +. The EU Delegation to Kazakhstan participated in equipping of this Auditorium.
The importance of the event lay in expanding the knowledge of the younger generation about the European Union and focusing on topical aspects of the EU’s activities, mutual relations between the EU and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
