Foreign Languages Department of the International Relations Faculty gave another open English lesson

On February 21, 2018 Aigul Kadyksyzy, Senior Lecturer of the Foreign Languages Department of the International Relations Faculty, gave an open English lesson on: "Customs and traditions of Great Britain" with the participation of first-year students of "International Relations".

The lesson was conducted in the format of an educational web-quest - an assignment with elements of a role-play, for which Internet resources are used. For this purpose, an interactive whiteboard, color illustrations and handouts were used.

In addition to the lexical theme, there was also grammatical theme regarded: "Sequence of tenses in indirect speech." For students to learn the new material more easily, Aigul Kadyksyzy used signal cards that students had to exchange in case of a correct answer, which in fact was a stimulating competitive game.

In conclusion, in order to check the knowledge acquired during the lesson, students played an online quiz on the site Kahoot.com aimed for creating online didactic games, quizzes, tests and questionnaires.

The session was conducted in a favorable psychological atmosphere, which was facilitated by the game format of the lesson and the benevolent mood of the lecturer, and students were greatly interested throughout the lesson.

At the end of the open class, the teachers of the Foreign Languages Department thanked their colleague Aigul Kadyskyzy and students for the session, noting that it was held at a high methodological level.
