The Department of Foreign Languages facilitated a methodological seminar

Methodical work is the most important means of increasing the pedagogical skill of university teachers, linking the whole system of work of higher education in a single whole.

With this purpose, the Department of Foreign Languages regularly facilitates methodological seminars for foreign language teachers.

This time the seminar was moderated by Dana Kermanian, a recognized language instructor from Grayson College (USA) and Scott Norris, Director of the Working Partners Consortium, which helps to improve English level through language courses and interaction with native speakers.

During the seminar, the moderators told about the opportunities and features of various methods of teaching foreign languages and shared their experience in applying them.

Particularly interesting part of the seminar was the use of a special scratch-card, similar to the instant lottery, as a ‘reading comprehension check’ tool. As the pedagogical experiment demonstrated, such scratch cards are an extremely fascinating method of testing knowledge and stimulate students' interest in learning.

The seminar was very interesting. The information material shared by the experienced professors Dana Kermanian and Scott Norris are ready-made tools for the work of a modern university lecturer, to whom high demands are made today.
