PhD students of IRF and FJP conducted an international round table

 

October 25 of the current year, PhD students of specialties “6D020200 - International Relations” Bolysbekova M.K., Alkevev A.K, “6D050200-Political Science” Dosmakhambetuly G., “6D050500-Regional Studies” Mustafayev B.Zh. and M. Kairgaliyev conducted an international scientific round table on the topic: “International relations in Turkic World : Turkey  - Kazakhstan - Azerbaijan” at the base of the Turkish-Kazakhstan Cultural and Educational Center at the University of Niide Omer Halisdemir (Turkey).  

This event with the involvement of students, undergraduates, Phdstudents and faculty members of the above-mentioned university and colleagues from Azerbaijan State University (Baku) was made possible thanks to the direct support of the Director of the Center for Internationalization and the image of L.N. Gumilyov ENU, Professor Seyit Ali Avcu and Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Zholdasbekova Akbota Niyazovna. It should be noted that this initiative is the implementation of one of the tasks of phd students, within the framework of foreign research internship and was enthusiastically met by Turkish and Azerbaijani colleagues. 

The event itself was solemnly opened by Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Economics, Professor Haluk Bengu and Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Dr. Mehmet Serkan Taflyoglu. In their speeches, they described relations between the states of the world, emphasizing the importance of developing relations on an educational and scientific basis.

Also, Professor Halk Bengu informed the audience about exchange agreements and Memorandums between universities of the Turkic world and expressed hope for further active cooperation between our universities and faculties.

Among the speakers from the Turkish side, there was a professor of political science and international relations, Mrs. Chigdem Sahin and a doctoral student, Turgai Dugen, who touched on modern Turkish-Kazakh and Azerbaijani-Turkish relations in their presentations, and also described the historical stages and prospects of these mutual relations today.

Eurasians, in their reports, touched upon important aspects of integration, security and inter-state relations of the countries of Turkic world. The speeches of our phd students were accompanied by multimedia material and aroused particular interest among the audience of the round table.

Questions proposed by doctoral students for discussion are relevant for studying in universities of Turkey and other universities of the Turkic-speaking states, whose representatives were present as students.

The final presentation was the report of the professor of the Department of International Relations of Azerbaijan State University Periza Samedov, who, in his speech, stressed the particularities of relations between our countries, pointed out the problems in studying these issues, which should be resolved and suggested areas in which cooperation should be developed, and also expressed his readiness to more in-depth contacts in education between our universities.

Еvent is held on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding between the University L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National and O.Halisdemir University, and the functioning of the Turkish-Kazakhstan Cultural and Educational Center. This center has become a platform for combining the interests of Turkish and Kazakh students, not only the Eurasian National University, but also students from the Al - Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical University, which fully support the initiatives of the Eurasians and are ready to participate in all activities initiated.

In conclusion, phd students are grateful for the assistance in organizing and conducting this round table to Professor Chigdem Sahin, representatives of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, doctoral student Turgay Dugen, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Modern Turkic Languages and Literature Yertayeva Perizat, and wish them creative success and professional achievements.
