Dialogue at the Department of Regional Studies: "Youth against extremism"
On May 23, 2019, the faculty and students of the department, together with the undergraduates of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held discussions in a “round table” format. The agenda was the fight against extremism and terrorism. International security and regional development largely depends on the correct methodological approach to solving the problem of international extremism. Undergraduates and representatives of the Academy of Law Enforcement Authorities made presentations on the topics: the history of extremism and terrorism, and also expressed their recommendations to students in their future research on this topic. Students expressed special interest in discussing with the undergraduates the question of the role of youth, what the younger generation is interested in and how to develop the right approach to the prevention of extremism in this social group.
