On February 7, 2020, the Department of Turkology of the faculty of International Relations held an open day with students of several schools in Nur-Sultan, as part of its career guidance work.
The event was opened with the song "Kozimnin karasy", in honor of the 175th anniversary of Abay Kunanbayev who is the spiritual wealth of Kazakh people. Then, there was a lecture on the theme «Past, present, future of the specialty of Turkology» by the state and public figure, head of the Department of Turkology Dr. Prof. Myrzatai Zholdasbekov.
During the lecture, Dr. Prof. Nurila Shaimerdinova also spoke about the prospects of the specialty Turkology and the life of the Department. The speech is continued by Vildan Onzhul, a scientist from Turkey, who was invited to the Department.
The participants of the event, students of schools involved in research in the field of Turkology, were included in the "Kultegin" scientific and cultural club. Talented students engaged in studying issues of Turkology were selected from the number of students and became members of the club.
