On September 24, 2020 the lecturers of the Foreign Languages Department of the Faculty of International Relations Yergaliyeva K.O and Kulakhmetova Zh.T. held a poetic evening on the Zoom platform "Your name is immortal, Abai!"
The event was dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the birth of the poet, composer, philosopher, educator and founder of Kazakh literature Abai Kunanbayev.
The purpose of the event is to popularize and introduce young people to the literary heritage of the great poet, to form a sense of patriotism among young people, to identify and support talented youth in realizing their creative potential.
The event began with watching a short video about the creative activity of the great poet. After that, it was held a game with the audience "Quiz about Abai". Students actively participated and answered the questions demonstrating excellent knowledge.
Then poems and songs were sung by 1st-4th year students of different specialties of L.N. Gumilyov ENU. in Kazakh, French and English.
All the participants of the event recited the poems with great enthusiasm in different languages demonstrating excellent pronunciation and artistry.

It is gratifying that the works of the great poet does not leave the representatives of the present generation indifferent and finds a response in their hearts.
The 1st-year student of the Public Relations specialty Amonzhol Akhtolkyn recited her own poem "Abai atam" dedicated to the Great Poet
At the end of the literary evening Abai's songs were performed in French and English languages.
